I'm Janalee, the founder and lead photographer of JB Photography. Since 2015, I've had the privilege of documenting weddings, engagements, and family milestones for couples who value authentic moments, meaningful connections, and exceptional photography. Whether that is in my Hartford photography studio or destination locations around Wisconsin.
My approach is rooted in creating an experience that feels effortless from beginning to end. Through thoughtful planning, gentle direction, and an eye for genuine emotion, I help my clients feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera while creating imagery that is both timeless and deeply personal.
I believe the best photographs happen when you're fully present—laughing with your partner, embracing your family, or celebrating one of life's most meaningful milestones. My role is to guide you through the process while capturing the moments that matter most.
When I'm not photographing weddings or working with clients, I'm spending time with my son, Julian, whose presence continually reminds me of the importance of preserving life's fleeting moments.

I am a father, husband, friend, photographer and full time "Papa". I am based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I want to begin by mentioning a little bit about why I got into photography; I have always been interested in photography, but it was when I started staying home as a full-time dad that I really immersed myself into the world of pictures. I realized the timelessness of childhood and want to capture those treasured moments of the life of my son and now my little girl. I believe in the importance of capturing these real moments and this has become the focus of my work. I would love nothing more than to capture your important moments.
I'm also a published landscape photographer and I love incorporating that into my wedding photos.

David is a fricken' rock star and lead associate. I can honestly say, this company wouldn't be where it is without him. He's always willing to go above and beyond for me and for our clients. And when it comes to photos? He's good- like really good! He took my wedding photos, so that says a lot right there.

MEET DAVID

Mom of 6, wife, family manager, former EMT and a self-proclaimed photography nerd. I started in the wedding industry as an assistant photographer when I was just 16 [way back in 2006!] and instantly fell in love. From the intimate love-soaked moments to the crazy and hilarious dance moves at the reception, everything about it called out to my soul. I think having that kind of passion for weddings is not only important but necessary. If your photographer is just as excited about your day as you are, you know they're going to treat your wedding as if it were their own, which is exactly what I do. I go all in to get the best shots, constantly looking around for perfect candids, planning epic shots out days or weeks before the big day, and finding inspiration on the day of to come up with new and fun ideas for poses that match my couple's personalities. I want my couples to look back on their photos and not just see memories, but feel the love, happiness, and energy in them, which is why I always give every wedding day my all. Your engagement session is photographed by your wedding photographer.
If your collection includes an engagement session, you'll work with the same photographer who will document your wedding day. This allows you to build a genuine connection and feel completely comfortable before the big day arrives.
You'll receive personalized guidance throughout the planning process.
From timeline planning and family photo organization to final details and wedding day logistics, your photographer will be your dedicated point of contact, ensuring every detail is thoughtfully prepared.
