Folk Song Farm brings over 100 years of history to your wedding day. This venue rests in the heart of the sprawling Richfield countryside. As your guests make your way to the wedding venue, they will pass by quiet farms and towering trees that have been untouched by suburban sprawl. Occasionally, tractors roll down the streets, and it’s not uncommon to see horses grazing just across the fields. No matter how entrenched you are in city life, Folk Song Farm will pull you out of the chaos and bring you to a sacred space with nothing but acres of grass and historic farmhouses around you.
Details of the Grounds
When you get married at Folk Song Farm, you will be able to stay on-site for your entire day. You and your wedding party will arrive that morning and set up in the bridal house. This sunny space will give you plenty of room to get ready for the day. I loved that it has two separate rooms which worked well for hair and makeup prep as well as changing. Enjoy a glass or two of champagne as you prepare for your wedding with the people you love the most!
Then, it’s time for your ceremony to begin. You will have several options for this portion of your day. If you want to take full advantage of the views, you can set up your ceremony outside. The venue has a lawn that they reserve specifically for weddings. On one side, you will have the namesake barn in view. On the opposite side, you will have a small, red, bridal house that keeps with the theme of the venue. Your backdrop will be flowers that are meticulously cared for. As the weather starts to turn and the leaves begin to fall, the field just beyond the property lines becomes apparent. No matter the time of year, you can have an authentic farm wedding!
More Special Spaces At The Folk Song Farm Wedding Venue
If you prefer to have your wedding inside, you will use the farm itself. This building is considered open-air. The weathered wooden slats let the sunbeams peak through during the afternoon, and the side barn doors slide open. The venue has hung string lights from the wooden rafters, and there are rustic touches throughout. The floor features hardwood that matches the walls and the ceilings.
Once you are done with your ceremony, it’s time for the cocktail hour to begin! The barn has a built-in bar that you can use for this time. Your guests can order drinks and take them outside to the deck or enjoy inside the barn. Your guests can enjoy the outside seating or play lawn games as you take your photos. There are even fire pits that are stocked by the Folk Song Farm staff.
Then, everyone will move back inside for the reception. The barn gives you tons of freedom with your decorations. You can add flowers and draping so you can transform the space however you’d like. Once it’s time to end the night, your guests can line up by the barn doors and wave goodbye. Folk Song Farm has created several spaces that you can use for your wedding. As you prepare for the day, the bridal quarters will give you a fabulous spot for your getting ready pictures. You can take all the time you want, snapping candid pictures as you put on those last touches. Then, you can head outside and take individual portraits. While the red barn is going to serve as one of the best backdrops, you can also use the fields, as well as the landscaping around the grounds. The walkway leading to the bridal house is fabulous for couples’ portraits. As you walk around, you can get pictures together while showing off the train of your dress. However, the hidden gem is the back 40 acres, that Shelly will drive you to! It’s stunning. with flowing grasses, towering trees, and a pond. She knows all the best spots on the property and was even willing to fluff a dress and throw a veil for us!

Wedding Details
Folk Song Farm is going to make sure you have all the resources you need for your dream wedding. Because the venue is open-air, they only host weddings from May through October. During their wedding season, you will be able to host your wedding any day of the week. Whenever your wedding day arrives, you will have an on-site wedding coordinator who will ensure your day is seamless. There will also be staff members on-site, as well as a bartender who will keep the drinks flowing. There is on-site parking with spots for plenty of cars. They also have a parking attendant before the ceremony.
The staff will arrive ahead of your party so they can set up. Following the celebration, they will clean up the premises and take care of the trash disposal. The venue allows outside vendors and will grant them access to the catering and staging area. The venue is wheelchair-accessible, and there are flushable restrooms. This is a pet-friendly space, so you don’t have to leave your four-legged bestie at home!
